With 2017 upon us and another year behind us, it is always a great time to reflect on our accomplishments of the past seasons and our hopes for the future. Most importantly though – Our family of brewers, bartenders, sales, and marketing would like to extend our deepest appreciation to all of you for sharing our commitment to family, friends, and flavor. We would not be here without your support! Here are a few of the things we accomplished in the last year, and a few plans for our future.

Our brewers, Kevin and Peter, are now working full time in the brewhouse and doing an outstanding job. They have helped produce and create some of the best beer I have ever had. It is wonderful to come to work everyday with such an engaged team. If you see them around, please thank them for their hard work and dedication. We have also added some incredible bar staff and are excited to see them blossom in the new year as they pass their cicerone certifications and help spread the gospel of Colorado Craft Beer.

We have made some incredible strides in our distribution this year. With our third beer in cans, HopTail IPA is making a big splash in the marketplace, and this year we will expand to a fourth beer in cans – Our blood orange infused  “Shandy Time”.  It has been popular with our guests and we look forward to making it a staple of our brewery.  Stay tuned for news on this release!

We have extended our relationship with Mad Rabbit Distilling and are now using their whiskey barrels to age our Imperial Stout and Barleywine.  We look forward to these releases on draught, as well as in 22oz bomber bottles.  Spring and fall releases for 2017!

We are also partnering with Rootshoot Malting Company in Loveland. We will be using their Colorado grown and malted barley and look forward to showcasing it with our first full time lager. We hope that you will join us in supporting others in the Colorado agriculture and business community by enjoying this creation.

Also on the horizon, the creation of our own small estate hop farm.  Making one-of-a-kind beer using estate grown hops will hopefully create interesting and delicious seasonal beers for us to share. The fresh hop ale we brew in the fall is one of our favorites and we are thrilled to have an opportunity to create it from hops grown right here at Wonderland.

Experimentation with wild yeast and sour cultures is a driving force in the evolution of the beer we are drinking, sampling, and enjoying.  In our ever-expanding lab we have begun working with wild yeast and bacteria and look forward to bringing new flavors to you. Working with wild yeast is challenging, but as most of you know, brings a unique complexity to the beers that can be produced. We look forward to these new releases and know that they will be well worth the wait!

In other news… We have been looking forward to expanding our tasting room with the addition of a kitchen. We are finally in the early stages of construction and can’t wait to have the additional space available. This is the largest step forward that we have attempted since opening and we are hard at work preparing menus and flavors to enhance the guest experience.

We hope that you have enjoyed the Wonderland environment this year.  We realize how fortunate we are to have indoor and outdoor space and are working on some ideas to bring you in and keep you interested. We are currently planning on re-invigorating our outdoor space with new gardens, a fire pit and more hops. We are planning for extra shade for the back patio and additional seating in the grass. With these enhancements, we strive to have more time in the Colorado sunshine that we all love, while also bringing some farm fresh ingredients to our beers and our new kitchen space.

We have also expanded and increased the quality of our pinball and game selection at the brewery, and are now holding regular pinball tournaments on our new and exciting tables. South Park Pinball, a guest and staff favorite, has been fully mod’d and includes as much Colorado love as one can give. We hope to see you in for a game or two in the near future!

Increased tap selection is on the horizon. With plans of 8 additional taps, we will be able to offer more flavors and different styles for you to choose from. Our guests can look forward to additional lagers, barrel aged and wild beers, and a wider selection of German and English beers to join our Belgian and American Lineup.

Lastly, we have made a great effort to increase and enhance our charitable efforts this year. Working with organizations such as; The Arc, CASA, A Precious Child, Humane Society of Boulder Valley, Broomfield Open Spaces, Holy Family High School, and many more, we were able to donate and raise over $7,500 this year. Remaining relevant in our community is important and if there are organizations you think we can help, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

As we look to the future, some exciting endeavors await us. We will continue to push the envelope of flavor and enjoyment and truly hope that you will join us for the ride! Thank you for your continuous support of Wonderland Brewing Company and the local craft beer community. We look forward to sharing many beers with you in the new year, and for years to come.
